DUDA KATARZYNA

Katarzyna Duda is one of the most interesting artistic personalities in Poland. She is performing throughout the world.

Critics agreeably define her as an artist of the new format. It is emphasized a wonderful combination of musical craftsmanship with tremendous scenic temperament and virtuosity with great musical sensitivity.

She has performed with recognized orchestras such as: Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Orquesta Sinfonica de Veracruz, European Union Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television Amadeus in Poznań,  Philharmonic Orchestra in Hradec Kralove, Polish Radio Orchestra, Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra, Capella Sankt Petersburg, Symphonic Orchestra National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Janáček Chamber Orchestra, Neue Ruhr Kammerphilharmonie, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico, Silesian Chamber Orchestra under the baton of such conductors as i.a.: Enrique Batiz, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, Agnieszka Duczmal, Lavard Skou Larsen, Józef Wiłkomirski, Jorge Mester, Dalia Atlas, Mykola Dyadyura, Łukasz Borowicz. She performed together with: Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Waldemar Malicki, Michał Urbaniak, Jan Stanienda, Krzesimir Dębski, Katarzyna Budnik-Gałązka, Hubert Salwarowski, Mariusz Patyra, Jakub Jakowicz, Rafał Kwiatkowski.

The Concert "Violin Summit" in which the artist performed next to Constantine Balls, Krzesimir Dębski and Michal Urbaniak received the highest award in the Pomeranian province - Pomeranian Arts Award "Neck" (Pl: GRYF) 2003 in the category "Artistic Event". She collaborates constantly with the orchestra Camerata Warsaw and its artistic director - Paweł Kos-Nowicki.

She performed in such prestiogoius concert falls as: Lincoln Center i Carnegie Hall in New York - inaugurating the international festival „Chopin & Friends”,in National Philharmonic in Warsaw, in the Hall of Rossini in Padova, Kawai Omotesando Hall in Tokyo as well as twice in Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. During the Amsterdam debut she was accompanied by her excellent pianist - Eve Pobłocka. All these concerts were enthusiastically received by audiences and critics.

Her performances were broadcast by many TV and radio stations, i.a.: Radio Suisse Romande, Polish Radio and Polish Television, television broadcasters in the Netherlands, Mexico, France, Germany and Russia. She has an extensive and diverse repertoire containing pieces from the Baroque to contemporary music. At the request of the artist and the Silesian Society of Music and New Music Orchestra in Katowice, it were created two violin concertos composed by great artists - Agata Zubel and Maciej Zielinski. Both works are dedicated to Katarzyna Duda as well as to OMN and her artistic manager - Szymon Bywalec.

Katarzyna Duda was nominated for "Passport" Award by "Politics" weekly magazine and the Polish Music Lovers Award in the category "Classical Instrumentalist of the Year" 

The artist is a laureate of the  International  Tibor Varga Violin Competition  in Sionin Switzerland and the  International Tadeusz Wronski Competition for Solo Violin in Warsaw.  At the Tibor Varga competition she also received the special award "Prix Mozart" for the best performance of the violin WA Mozart's concerto.

Katarzyna Duda took place her studies in the master class of violin Maestro Tibora Vargi w Ecole Supérieure de Musique w Sion in Switzerland. Diploma from the Academy of Music in Warsaw received by working extramurally under the supervision of prof. Jan Stanienda. The multiple winner of awards at national and international competitions for young violinists. At the 17th National Week of Talents by Decision of music critics she was included in a nationwide promotion. Scholarship holder of Interlochen Academy of Arts in the USA. 

Her first album entitled "Le Streghe," which she recorded with pianist Waldemar Malicki (DUX), with virtuoso repertoire for violin and piano accompaniment, received enthusiastic reviews in the media and was nominated for the Association of Audio Video Producers  - FRYDERYK 'in 2000, as the only CD with the participation of the solo violin. This success inspired the young artist to record another CD with hits of virtuoso music for violin - "Le Streghe 2" - but this time with an orchestral accompaniment. In this recording the artist was accompanied by Wrocław Chamber Orchestra "Vratislavia" under the baton of John Stanienda (DUX). The CD also was nominated for the award FRYDERYK '2001. The artist also recorded a CD with violin music of Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz (including with the pianist Edward Wolanin, Acte Prealable) as well as Andrzej Nikodemowicz (with the pianist Agnieszka Schulz-Brzyska, DUX). Katarzyna Duda has also completed the recording material for her latest CD album with the accompaniment of guitarist Waldemar Gromolak; you can also hear on this album a guest, one of the most outstanding and versatile Polish singers - Anna Maria Jopek in the tracks arranged by Christopher Herdzin.

The artists also plays on Italian instruments from the early 19th century.
